GMAC Film offers a fun programme for 10-25 year olds who are into film. Our youth programme is free of charge and all about watching and making films, meeting friends and making new ones. We run film making workshops and activities throughout the year. A Youth Team made up of 16-25 year olds is at the heart of everything we do.

Mad About Movies

Production-still-Uncle-MAM-Summer-School
Mad About Movies is a programme of film activities for young people from across wider Glasgow. Previous years activities include movie clubs, filmmaking schools in the Easter and Summer breaks, acting and animation courses, one-day workshops and film masterclasses. Mad About Movies also includes volunteering/internship opportunities and our Youth Team: an advisory group of young people feeding back ideas into the project’s programme.

GMAC Film’s Mad About Movies Project is funded through Cashback for Creativity which takes the proceeds of crime and reinvests it back into communities to benefit Scotland’s young people.

CashBack for Creativity is currently under review by the Scottish Government and Creative Scotland. There will be no Mad About Movies activities until further notice. We are awaiting funding announcements and look forward to announcing our new programme soon.

What’s on at the Movie Club?

Mad About Movies – Youth Team

Young people are at the heart of our youth programme. That’s why the Youth Team – a group of young, hands-on advisors – are involved in the making of our Mad About Movies programme by helping us develop activities for young people. Youth Team members get to broaden their knowledge and understanding of film while getting a taste for working in the creative industries. Taking part also enhances confidence, leadership, presentation, employment and social skills – and most of all, it’s good fun!

The Youth Team meets up once a month to discuss upcoming events and new ideas. To be eligible for membership you must have attended at least 2 GMAC Film youth projects and be aged between 16 and 25. Contact us if you’d like to learn more.
