Summer School Paid Internships

Do you have a passion for working in the film industry and enjoy working with young people?

We are looking for interns to support industry tutors on an intensive two-week summer film making programme.  GMAC Film Summer School is for young people aged 15-19, who will learn how to create and produce a short film written by a young scriptwriter. The young people will receive training in their chosen department and will take part in shooting a short film, giving them an authentic industry experience.

The role of each Summer School paid intern is to support and assist the department tutor while encouraging the young people and helping to guide them through the production process.  Interns will have some previous experience of filmmaking and be enthusiastic to share their skills and knowledge in return for widening their youth work and filmmaking experience. Each intern will be assigned to a department, with an experienced tutor to lead the exercises and activities, and be expected to work together as part of the staff team in a professional manner.

Interns will be required to complete Disclosure Scotland PVG registration forms and will be given brief training for child protection and health and safety.
