Martin Smith‘s second commissioned short film Tracks starring David MacNeil, Ryan Wallace, Tony Martin, John Cowan and Paul Stewart was winner of the BAFTA Scotland Award for ‘Best Short Film’. This is in addition to being Highly Commended at the TCM Turner Classic Movies Competition, its ‘Best UK Film’ Nomination at the Raindance Film Festival and ‘Best of UK Shorts’ Nomination at The Leeds International Film Festival. It has been described as “a shocking and naturalistic portrayal of children’s cruelty in a powerful, raw and affecting film”.

Tracks was produced through the GMAC Film short film production and talent development initiative Digicult. Martin was excited to shoot the project with La Belle Allee Productions Karen Smyth, Executive Prouducer Paul Welsh, casting director Kahleen Crawford and with award winning director of photography Tom Townend. Sound was by Chris Campion with sound design by John Cobban. Post production took place at La Belle Allee and The Base. Martin edited the film himself on Final Cut Pro.
