GMAC Film welcomes Creative Director, Gordon Anderson!
GMAC Film is delighted to welcome Gordon Anderson (he/him) as its Creative Director!
Born in Stirling, Gordon trained as an actor at the Royal Central School of Speech & Drama in London and as a film director at the BBC. He began his career in the theatre, directing for many of the UK’s leading theatre and opera companies, including the National Theatre, the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Royal Court Theatre, Manchester Royal Exchange, Bristol Old Vic, Scottish Opera and English Touring Opera, before proceeding to become an award-winning television director.
He went on to set up, write for and direct The Catherine Tate Show (BBC), as well as setting up and directing the first series of The Inbetweeners (Channel 4). He then went on to direct some of the UK’s most successful prime time television dramas including Endeavour (ITV), Shetland (BBC), Lovesick (Netflix), Fresh Meat (Channel 4), Grantchester (ITV), Silent Witness (BBC), and Shameless (Channel 4).
Gordon said:
“I’m excited to be joining GMAC. I’ve admired the company from afar, and I think what GMAC does is so important for the filmmaking community in Scotland. I’m keen to play a part in helping early career filmmakers from all backgrounds to realise their potential and make their best possible films!”
This new role at GMAC is funded by Screen Scotland, and is designed to support the delivery of our new vision and strategy with resilience, integration and maximum impact at its heart.
