GMAC Film have been the Glasgow delivery partner of the BFI Film Academy since 2013. The BFI Film Academy prepares 16-19-year olds to work in the film and TV industries. The course also includes a NCFE qualification in ‘Preparing to Work in The Film Industry’.
The BFI Film Academy is your FIRST step into filmmaking!
BFI Film Academy offers young people passionate about film a chance to learn together, working in production teams to create a short film in an industry led environment.
During this hands-on course you will learn about film, sound, writing, pre & post production. As part of the course you will get to make a short film and gain the NCFE Level 2 qualification ‘Preparing to Work in the Film Industry’.
This 15-week course will run on Saturdays in person at our GMAC Film offices.
To be eligible to apply you must:
- Be 16 to 19 years of age when the course starts
- Not at university
- Resident in the UK
- Able to commit to all of the dates.
Priority will be given to applicants from under-represented backgrounds.


Applications
This year’s BFI course will commence in September 2022 and we will be opening applications in Summer 2022.
