GMAC Film is delighted to welcome Jennifer Armitage as our new Director.

Jen has a longstanding relationship with the organisation spanning over twenty years. After a short spell with a community theatre company, Jen’s first screen role was as Education Manager at Glasgow Film Theatre, where she partnered with GMAC on a programme of After-School CineClubs. From there Jen joined the national screen agency and has since worked across a range of artforms in audience and talent development. Within the Scripted Development team at Screen Scotland, Jen supported Scotland based talent on feature films including WINNERS and GIRL as well as BBC Scotland series FLOAT, and led on talent programmes including GMAC’s Little Pictures. Most recently Jen worked with Glasgow based production company barry crerar as Head of Development on projects including their recent documentary EVERYBODY TO KENMURE STREET.

As we settle into our new home at The Pyramid, we’re excited to begin this next chapter with Jen’s leadership. This new role at GMAC brings together her commitment to creating access and supporting pathways for talent, and her commitment to Glasgow and its creative and resilient spirit.

Jennifer Armitage:

‘GMAC has been central to my own work and professional relationships throughout my career. After working as a partner with GMAC over many years, I am excited to lead the organisation into its next phase, with a new base and as part of an ever-evolving screen sector.’
